William Tyler (T.J.) Johnson will enter his second season on the Wolfpack sideline in 2019-20.

In Johnson's first season, he developed a young Wolfpack team thin on numbers and guided them to a WPCC tournament quarterfinal win over CCAC-Boyce for a spot in the conference semi-finals.  Following the season, forward Xavier Johnson was selected Honorable Mention All-Region XX.

Johnson’s coaching career began as a student-assistant coach at the University of Pittsburgh, Greensburg campus in 2012.  He then went on to serve as a graduate assistant with the men’s program at California University of Pennsylvania for 2014-15. Johnson returned to Pitt-Greensburg as an assistant coach for the 2015-16 season and helped the Bobcats win their first conference championship in program history and earn the first-ever NCAA Tournament berth.  He was part of a coaching staff which had four 1,000-point scorers, 15 All-Academic players and eight All-Conference selections. He moved to Scotland, Pa., in 2017 to become the assistant basketball coach at Scotland Campus Sports Prep School.

Johnson is a graduate of Pitt Greensburg and has a master’s degree from California (Pa.) University.  Most recently, Johnson was the head girls' basketball coach at Derry Area Senior High School. While at Derry, he was in charge of daily operations, which encompassed practice and development plans for student athletes.  He managed the hiring and development of all basketball coaching staff. Johnson has also worked with Elite AAU programs.
