GREENSBURG, Pa. - Sophomore Josh Gelet rolled the high score in all three games to take first place and four Westmoreland County Community College men's bowlers finished in the top six to lead the Wolfpack to a first place finish as a team at Friday's home match at Main Lanes in Greensburg.
Gelet took command from the first game, as he scored 268 for not only his high game of the season, but also the high for the conference so far this year. He rolled a 236 and was matched by sophomore teammate Trevor Nelson for high points in the second game. Gelet closed out his outstanding day with a 257 in the final game to post a series score of 761, which is also the best in the conference this year.
Gelet had plenty of company in the top six from his Woflpack teammates. Nelson's big second game total helped him post a series score of 603 to take third place overall. He just edged out first-year teammate Chris Gaia, who rolled 235 in the opening game for his best effort of the season on his way to a series score of 596 to place fourth. Rounding out the top scorers was first-year player Zach Hartmann, who placed sixth with a score of 556.
The Wolfpack are back in action on Feb. 1 in a match hosted by CCAC-North.
