YOUNGWOOD, Pa. - Although Mackenzie Markle recorded another double-double, the Westmoreland County Community College women's basketball team could not overcome a strong outing by visting Penn State-DuBois, who scored an 88-55 victory Saturday.
DuBois took control with a 28-14 lead after the first quarter. The Wolfpack played an even second quarter, but the Lions continued to pull away in the second half for the win.
For Westmoreland, Markle had another huge game. She finished with 26 points and pulled down 12 rebounds, her sixth double-double of the season and fifth straight. Notching double digits in scoring as well was Hannah Hempfield, who scored 15 and also passed out six assists and made six steals.
The Wolfpack are back on the court Tuesday with a road game at Garrett College in Maryland Tuesday evening at 5 pm. Westmoreland won the first meeting between the teams on Nov. 15th by a 59-56 count in Youngwood.
