YOUNGWOOD, Pa. - Despite double-doubles from Mackenzie Markle and Julea Claycomb, the Westmoreland County Community College women's basketball team couldn't stay with Division II Montogomery College Sunday, as the Raptors pulled away for a 74-41 win.
The Wolfpack stayed within striking distance through the first half, trailing 14-6 after one quarter and 32-19 at halftime. But Westmoreland was held to just eight points in the third period and Montgomery scored 23 points in the final quarter to claim the win.
The inside duo of Markle and Claycomb had strong nights for the Wolfpack. Markle posted 18 points on 8-of-13 shooting and grabbed 12 rebounds for her 10th double-double of the year. For Claycomb, her 10 points and 10 rebounds was her second straight double-double.
The Wolfpack are back on the floor next Saturday with a road game at Butler CCC for their final regular season match-up of the season.
