YOUNGWOOD, Pa. - The Westmoreland County Community College volleyball team lost to visiting CCAC 3-0 Thursday night in a WPCC match.
The first set was close throughout, as a run of three straight points off serves, including two aces by freshman Anna Edmonds and another two points off serves by Arianna Matrone brought the Wolfpack within a point at 13-12. CCAC pulled away with a string of eight consecutive points to win the opener 25-15. Big runs would also tell the story in the next two sets, which the Wildcats won by 25-5 and 25-8 scores.
Edmonds finished the night with three aces and a pair of blocks. Matrone totaled two kills as well.
Westmoreland is at home again for its next match, when it hosts Allegany (Md.) College Saturday at 1 pm.
