Westmoreland Takes on Garrett at Ripken
On day three at the Ripken Experience, the Wolfpack got a chance to play a familiar foe in Region 20's Garrett College. Westmoreland jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead after the first half inning before their division 2 opponent took the lead on their way to a 17-4 win over the Wolfpack.
Ben Anderson was the second batter of the game, and with Ronnie Howard on base, he jumped all over a pitch for his first home run of the season. After that Garrett, NJCAA Division II, took the lead with 4 runs in the bottom of the first, and didn't look back. Anderson, Howard, Dom Koch, and Kameron Pritts each had a hit in the game, with Anderson (2) and Howard (1) driving in the runs.
Cameron DePalma started the game and went 2 innings striking out one batter. Then it was Chaz Lankey's turn going 2 innings striking out 3 of the batters he faced.
The Wolfpack will finish up at the Ripken Experience on Sunday afternoon as they will take on another NJCAA Division II Region 20 opponent in the College of Southern Maryland.
