Baseball Take Rubber Match vs Jamestown
After splitting the double header on Thursday afternoon, the Wolfpack baseball team aimed to take the rubber match, and the series.
The Wolfpack jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead after the first inning, then adding three more runs in the third inning. Jamestown jumped on the board with a run in the top of the fourth inning, which Westmoreland answered with a run of their own in the bottom of the fourth, on their way to a 10-4 victory, and took two out of three from Jamestown.
Catcher Ronnie Howard, and Center Fielder Dom Koch both collected 2 hits in the games, Koch also drove in a run as well. Jacob Piktel went 1 for 4 with 3 RBI's, while Brayden Patton and Cameron DePalma both had a hit a piece.
DePalma was not just a threat at the plate, he also pitched giving up 1 run on 4 hits, and striking out 12 over 7 innings. Cody Adomnick came in to pitch the final two innings allowing 3 runs on 5 hits.
The Wolfpack will not get ready to play Niagara Community College on Saturday. Niagara comes into Youngwood ranked as the number two team in the country, so it will be a solid test for Westmoreland.
