Game 1
Westmoreland County Community College snagged a late lead and defeated Jamestown CC 7-6 on Tuesday in game one of their doubleheader. Westmoreland trailed 6-5 in the bottom of the sixth inning when Logan Short doubled on a 0-1 count, scoring two runs, securing the win!
Bats blistered as the Wolfpack collected nine hits and Jamestown CC tallied six in the high-scoring game. Dom Koch and Jake Piktel each had multiple hits for the Wolfpack. Piktel and Koch each collected two hits to lead the offense.
Travis Keister got the start for Westmoreland. The lefty allowed five hits and six runs over four innings, striking out seven. Cody Adomnik came in and slammed the door shut over the final three innings allowing one hit, and earning the win!
Game 2
Even though Westmoreland gave up four runs in the first inning, they still defeated Jamestown CC 12-6 in game two of the doubleheader earning themselves a sweep.
Westmoreland collected 14 hits and Jamestown CC had eight. The Wolfpack pulled away for good with five runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth Logan Short drew a walk, scoring one run, Dom Koch was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, and Ronnie Howard singled on a 3-1 count, scoring three runs.
Joe Druga was on the hill for Westmoreland. The hurler lasted all seven innings, allowing eight hits and six runs while striking out six.
Westmoreland totaled 14 hits. Tanner Colflesh, Andy Person, Koch, and Howard each managed multiple hits for Westmoreland. Howard, Koch, Person, and Colflesh each collected two hits to lead the Wolfpack.
This sweep puts the Wolfpack on a three game winning streak as they get ready to host the St. Vincent JV team at home on Friday in a doubleheader starting at 1pm.
