Westmoreland Visits Frederick in a Region 20 Matchup

Westmoreland traveled to Frederick on Sunday for a region 20 matchup. This was the second game of a back to back road trip for the wolfpack. They played Howard County Community College on Saturday. This game was critical for both teams' playoff hopes as they were both in need of a conference win.

The first half opened with both teams trading 3 point baskets roughly 2 minutes into the game. Strong defense was played by both teams, as Westmoreland would not score their next basket until around the 15 minute mark. The scoring started to pick up from there as the Cougars took a 44 to 33 lead going into halftime.  

The scoring would continue in the second half but Westmoreland could not get another stops to close the gap. The teams would combine for 95 points and the wolfpack found themselves losing 94-78. Lorenzo Gardner led Westmoreland in scoring with 24 points and Jaisean Blackman would add 9 points and 12 rebounds. The wolfpack will look to get back in the win column as they will take on CCAC on Saturday Feb.1
