Women's Basketball Earns First Win of the Season
Wednesday night the women's basketball hear played host to WPCC and Region XX rival, CCAC. It has been a number of years since these two foes played one another due to the pandemic and other scheduling issues. The Wolfpack jumped out to an early lead and never looked back, winning their first game of the season 88-56.
The ladies were lead in scoring by Makayka Boda and her 32 points. Also scoring in double digits for the Wolfpack were freshman Hannah Wedow, with 19, and Chloe Willochell, with 12 points each. Sarah Fulton has a season high 8 points, while Autumn Stewart and Angel Kelly both added in 8 points each as well. Stewart also snagged 13 rebounds, and Alexia Stanek pulled in 10 rebounds. Also, Mercedes Smartnick and Maggie Bellina combined for 3 offensive rebounds and a steal to round things out for the Wolfpack.
"We saw a number of good things to continue to build off of for the rest of the season," said Coach Brymn. "We are looking forward to keep making progress, and learning, each time we play."
The Women's game on Friday February 4th has been canceled due to the weather forecast, there is no make up date for the game. The ladies team is now scheduled to return to the court on Wednesday February 9th vs Butler County Community College at 5pm.
