Women's Basketball Advances to WPCC Championship Game
Friday night the women's basketball team kicked off the WPCC Tournament by hosting CCAC in a first round match up. Westmoreland came out of the gate hot and never looked back. They got out to a 36 to 14 half time lead and finished the game off shooting 54% from the field and 52.6% from three point range. The women then finished the game off winning 84-27.
Angel Kelly was the leading scorer for the Wolfpack with 23 points. Kelly went 7 of 12 from 3 point range, and was one of three members of the Wolfpack with 12 rebounds. Makayla Boda and Hannah Wedow both also had 12 rebounds each and scored 22 and 19 points each. Chloe Willochell added in 15 points on the night, while Autumn Stewart added 5 points and 11 rebounds.
"It was a solid effort on both ends of the court," said Coach James Brymn. "We still have some things we need to clean up if we want to beat Bulter tomorrow."
The women's team will continue their march towards a conference championship Saturday as they travel to Butler for a 6pm championship tip-off. The game will be live streamed using the link on our team schedule page.
