Wolfpack Bats Fall Short
YOUNGWOOD, Pa – The Wolfpack Baseball team lost two road games against CCBC Catonsville.
In game two, the Wolfpack struck first after Nick Fuentes singled to center field to bring in Noah Sweeney. Catonsville answered back with one run after an infield error. The second inning was silent but in the third, Sweeney and Kegerreis walk and Wicker singled to left to load the bases. Dom Koch singled through the left side to score Sweeney for a 2-1 lead. Reid Amundson pushed a single past the third basemen to score two but Koch was thrown out at second base. The Cardinals bounced back with three runs in the bottom of the third inning from a set of singles and a timely home run to tie the game 4-4.
Kegerreis launched a ball over the center field fence in the top of the fourth to regain the lead but Catonsville scored two in the bottom half of the frame to lead 6-5 after four innings. The Wolfpack tied the game at 6-6 in the fifth thanks to back-to-back doubles from Amundson and Caden Kastronis and they took the lead 7-6 in the sixth from another Kegerreis home run. The Cardinals answered back with two runs in the bottom of the seventh from an error, stolen base, walks and timely singles to walk off the Wolfpack 8-7.
Tommy Kegerreis and Reid Amundson both collected three hits in three at bats with two RBIs a piece. Caden Kastronis went 2-for-4 with two doubles and an RBI while Jared Wagner pitched six innings, collecting eight strike outs along the way.
Westmoreland travels to Potomac State College on Tuesday March 23rd for a doubleheader that starts at 1:00 pm.
