Wolfpack's Kegerreis Named All-American
YOUNGWOOD, Pa. - Westmoreland County Community College's Tommy Kegerreis added another honor to his impressive season Wednesday when the ABCA/Rawlings All-American teams were announced in conjunction with the NJCAA national office and the Wolfpack center fielder earned Third Team honors.
Kegerreis helped lead the Wolfpack to the Mid-Atlantic District Tournament as the Region XX representative by leading the team and ranking 13th in the country in NJCAA Division III with a .453 batting average (48-for-106). He also ranked in the top 25 in the nation in on-base percentage (23rd at .528) and slugging percentage (17th at .755). Kegerreis clubbed a team-best seven home runs and also drew 17 walks to lead the Wolfpack. In addition, he collected 29 RBIs, scored 28 runs, belted 11 doubles and stole three bases.
This is the second national honor for the Franklin Regional High School product, as he also earned NJCAA Division III Player of the Week for March 28-April 4. Included in that stretch was a 6-for-6 performance in a game two-win at Kent State-Tuscarawas April 3rd, which set a new program record for hits in a game. It was one of 15 games that Kegerreis had two or more hits this season.
With this honor, Kegerreis is the first Wolfpack player to earn All-American distinction since 2016 when Rafael Amanau also earned Third Team laurels after batting .386 with 29 RBIs and leading Westmoreland to a 20-15 record and the WPCC title that season.
