A day after sweeping Lorain Community College, Westmoreland County Community College played host to NJCAA Region 20 opponent in CCBC Dundalk in their first regional doubleheader of the season.
Freshman Tyler Skaggs to the bump Sunday and went 5 innings for the complete game. Tyler allowed 1 run, not earned, on 4 hits. He struck out 5 of the 24 batters he faced, as he earned his first win of his college career.
Offensively the Wolfpack picked right up where they left off on Saturday, pounding out 10 more hits, while scoring 12 runs, in the 12-1 win. Owen Saiani led off for the Wolfpack and tallied 3 hits. Owen Dumbroski and Tyler Martin both collected 2 hits a piece. Jake Gedekoh and Darren DeRiggi both stayed hot driving in 4 and 3 runs each.
Game two saw the Westmoreland offense slow down a bit in a 11-4 loss in game two. Jake Sincak tallied three of the Pack's 8 hits. Larry Weaver, Cameron Seabol, and Anthony Jump all had an RBI in the contest.
Myles Beavin took the ball in game two going 5 innings allowing 3 earned runs. He was relieved by Stevie Hasson, making his first appearance of the season, going 0.1 innings allowing 4 runs on 2 hits. Darren DiRiggi closed things out going 1.2 innings allowing 1 earned run on 4 hits.
With the split of the doubleheader, Westmoreland improved to 3-2 on the season and 1-2 in the Region 20. They will now get a few days rest before traveling to Montgomery Community College on Saturday for another Region 20 double dip, on their way to the Ripken Experience in Myrtle Beach where they will play 3 games.
