Westmoreland Controls the Glass in Win
The Westmoreland County Community College men's basketball team earned a solid non-conference victory over Grove City College JV, using a balanced offensive attack and dominant rebounding effort to secure a 75-point performance.
Westmoreland was led by Tommy Davis, who recorded a game-high 24 points and 12 rebounds, shooting 10-of-16 from the field. Julian Thompson added a double-double of his own with 18 points and 15 rebounds, while also dishing out five assists to anchor the paint presence on both ends of the floor.
Ryan Burkart orchestrated the offense efficiently, finishing with 11 points and 10 assists, as Westmoreland totaled 22 assists as a team. Tyler Anthony chipped in 13 points, six rebounds, and three assists, contributing on both sides of the ball.
Defensively, Westmoreland was active throughout the contest, collecting 10 steals and five blocks. Jayson Watkins provided energy off the bench with three blocked shots, helping limit Grove City JV's interior scoring.
Westmoreland shot 42.4 percent from the field and 33.3 percent from three-point range, while winning the rebounding battle 43–30, including 13 offensive rebounds that created multiple second-chance opportunities.
The win reflects Westmoreland's continued emphasis on physical play, ball movement, and defensive pressure as the team progresses through its schedule.
The wolfpack will return to region 20 play this Saturday as they take on CCBC Dundalk at home.
