Westmoreland County Community College Races Past Davis & Elkins JV Behind Balanced 101-Point Attack
Westmoreland County Community College delivered one of its most complete offensive performances of the season, rolling to a 101–71 victory over Davis & Elkins on the strength of five double-figure scorers and a triple-double from Julian Thompson.
The Wolfpack shot an efficient 52.4 percent from the field and piled up 31 assists on 44 made baskets, controlling the tempo from the opening tip. Westmoreland dominated the glass 46–31 and turned 11 steals into a steady stream of transition opportunities.
Sophomore forward Tommy Davis led all scorers with 25 points and 12 rebounds, powering inside for 11-of-22 shooting while adding three blocks. Tyler Anthony set the tone in the backcourt with 20 points, connecting on two three-pointers and attacking the rim all night.
The story of the evening was the all-around brilliance of Julian Thompson, who recorded a 20-point, 11-rebound, 10-assist triple-double to anchor the Westmoreland attack. Thompson also contributed two steals and two blocks, repeatedly sparking decisive runs.
Point guard Ryan Burkart orchestrated the offense with 15 points and seven assists, while Connor Pavlocak stuffed the stat sheet with 14 points, seven assists, and five steals, helping the Pack force 12 turnovers.
Westmoreland built a double-digit lead midway through the first half and never looked back, pushing the margin past 20 after the break with a barrage of scores from Anthony and second-chance finishes by Davis and Thompson. The Wolfpack bench added quality minutes, highlighted by Desmond Saunders' five points and steady defensive energy from Jayson Watkins and Ethan Kane.
The Pack finished 8-for-26 from three and converted 71 percent at the foul line, more than enough to offset a scrappy Davis & Elkins effort.
WCCC will return to action on Saturday for a home game against Region 20 opponent Howard Community College at 2pm.
