Bowling Clears the Deck Against Penn Highlands
With the calendar, turning to January, the men's and women's Westmoreland County community college Bowling teams started prepping for their 2026 season. Tuesday afternoon saw the teams making the trip up to 814 lanes and games in Johnstown for their first matchup of the season with Penn Highlands community college.
The men's team started off the season with a bang, taking the top five overall finishing spots!! Sophomore Larry Weaver placed first, with a 596 series. He threw a match high game of 266 in game two. Freshman Jake Sinack play second overall was the final pin total of 595. Right behind him was freshman. Hunter Cook with his 591 series. Sophomore Andrew Marcej placed fourth overall amassing 585 pins over the three games. Rounding out the Wolfpack bowlers was sophomore Luke sunny placing fifth overall with a 580 series.
The women's bowling team has won member this year in freshman Rachel Beaman. Rachel did not take part in the first event of the season, but looks to have a very promising season ahead of her.
The men's of women's team will look to continue their hot start, as they host their first match of the year this Friday, January 23 at 2 PM, at Main Bowl in Greensburg.
