Cross Country Travel to Juniata
On a much cooler Friday night, the Westmoreland County Community College Cross Country team attended the Junitata College Eagle Cross Country Invitational for the first time.
This event saw the men's team up first running a 6k. Both freshmen Adam Halinka and Tyler Stone took part in the event. Both running faster times than at the first meet of the season. Adam Halinka placed 17th overall with a time of 26:06. Stone placed 20th overall, crossing the line with a time of 30:28.
The women's race saw all four members of the team improve on their times from the first meet of the season as well. Freshman Kylie Klinger was first member of the Wolfpack to cross the finishline in 7th place, her first top 10 finish of her college Career, in a tim eof 24:13. Savanna Orner and Lexie Kepple were next for the Pack in 13th and 14th place with times of 25:32 and 26:27. Next came Eva Lichty who placed 23rd overall with a time of 32:03. This time was 4 minutes and 43 seconds faster than her time at the previous meet.
Westmoreland will now have a week off before they head to Mount Aloysius for the Mountie invitational Saturday September 28th at 9:45am.
