Cross Country Hosts the 15th Annual Wolfpack Invitaional
Friday evening saw the Westmoreland County Community College men's and women's cross country team host the 15th Annual Wolfpack Invitational.
The Women's team was the first ones to toe the line as 8 teams took part in the event. Runners from Carlow, Bethany, Pitt-Greensburg, Mount Aloysius, PSU-Dubois, La Roche, and Potomac State took part in the event. Kylie Klinger continues to get better every race, as she placed 10TH overall, crossing the finish line with a time of 24:23. Sophomore Lexie Kepple was the next member of the Wolfpack to cross the line in a time of 26:58, placing her 17th overall. Eva Lichty was next for Westmoreland completing the course in a time of 29:00 placing 26th. Rounding out the women's team was Avery Bailey who finished with a time of 36:13.
Next the men's team was up, with the same 8 teams plus CCBC Catonsville and Penn Highlands added into the mix to make up the 10 teams. Sophomore Adam Halinka improved from the same meet last year placing 19th overall with a time of 21:29. The only other member of the men's team to compete was freshman Ben Metts. Ben Completed the course in 24:41, just off from his high school PR, placing 34TH overall.
The Wolfpack did not score as a full team in either event due to not having 5 athletes take part in the event. Westmoreland will next travel to Potomac State College on Saturday September 13th at 1:30pm.
