Coach Brush is Ready to Bring Back Women's Basketball

After being hired as the women's assistant coach in 2024, Michael Brush ascended to head coach of the Westmoreland County Community College Women's Basketball team in 2025.

Coach Brush was a 4 Year basketball player at Pittsburgh Central Catholic as a member of the Class of 91. He has coached basketball teams and camps for various levels for over 30 years.  He has spent time as the Men's Summer League Owner/Operator of the men's summer league in Swisshelm Park and Magee City Parks league for 8 Years.  He is still Co-Owner and Head Coach for The Pride Hoops AAU Organization from 2006-2025.  He also spent time as the Assistant Boys Basketball Coach at Trinity Christian High School from 2017-2019.

Coach Brush's children have both played for the Wolfpack basketball programs.  His son Michael played for the men's basketball team from 2021-2023, and now his daughter Madison has joined him in 2025 on the women's team.

"We are lucky to have someone with the experiience of coach Brush to be the person tasked to bring the women's program back," said Athletic Director Patrick Comer.  "He has been successful at so many different levels of basketball, that there is no doubt in my mind that he will be successful here as well," added Comer.
