Ford and Duffy Take on the Country's Best at Golf Nationals
Last week saw Aiden Duffy and Jada Ford compete in the NJCAA Division III Men's and Women's Golf National Championships at Chautauqua Golf Club in Chautauqua NY, hosted by Jamestown Community College. The event is 72 holes over 4 days and is a grueling challenge both mentally and physically.
Jada kicked off her tournament with a solid round of 102 on Tuesday. Wednesday saw her shave off 2 strokes from day one, finishing with a round of 100. Day three was Ford's best round of her college career finishing with a 93. Then on day for Jada scored her second round of the season under 100, with a final round 99. Her 72-hole total came to 394 over the four days. This was good enough for her for finish in 8th place overall. This earned Ford Second-Team All American Status. This was the Highest individual finish in program history at the National Championships. This also marks the third year in a row that Westmoreland has earned All American hours on the women's team.
Freshman Aiden Duffy qualified for the event placing 4th overall at the NJCAA Region 20 Championships. Duffy kicked the week off with a first round 85. Day two was his best day of the tournament shooting an 82 on Wednesday. Final rounds of 87 and 86 rounded out the week Duffy. His final 72-hole score was 340, placing him 53rd overall.
With golf season now complete, Coach Black and the men's and women's golf team turn their attention to the fall 2025 season as they will prepare to play the fall season for the WPCC Conference title. Headlined by Duffy and Ford as anchors for those teams.
