Golf Hosts Regional Teams at Glengarry
Friday afternoon was the prefect spring day as the Westmoreland County Community College men's and women's golf teams played host to all the Region 20 golf teams at Glengarry golf course in Latrobe for their first home match of the spring season.
In the second spring match, sophomore Aiden Duffy and freshman Brodie Cuthbert tied for second place shooting rounds of 72. They finished 1 stroke off of first place, Butlers Jaxon Salata's 71. Luke Anderchak, who placed first in the previous match, placed sixth overall with a 74, only 3 strokes off the leader. Noah Dubyak was next with a round of 75. Gunnar Shoup was next for the Wolfpack with a 79. Bret Worthington came in next with an 81. Ethan Hixon and Casey Schraedor rounded out the men's team with scores of 90 and 105. Butler took the win in this event with a team score of 296. Westmoreland placed second 4 stokes behind with a 300, while CCAC placed third with a score of 326.
On the women's side of things, Bryn Baluh placed first with a round of 91. Sophomore Jada Ford placed second with a 94. Rachel Ayres was next for the Pack with a 112 over her 18 holes. Rachel Beeman took part in her first college golfing event and shot a round of 134 for the day.
The Wolfpack will next travel to Lake Arthur Golf Club for a match hosted by Butler Community College on Tuesday at 11am.
