Volleyball Falls in Season Opener

Tuesday evening Westmoreland County Community College played host to last season's number 1 ranked DIII, Butler County Community College.  The Wolfpack played their best games with Butler in the last few years, falling 3-1 to the pioneers.

The Wolfpack fell behind early in game one 8-0, before mounting a feverish comeback to close the gap to 25-17.  Game two saw Westmoreland have the lead at 20-18, before Butler came back to take the second game 25-22.  Game three saw the Wolfpack win 25-16.  Butler then took game four convincingly 25-9, and get their third series to take the match 3-1.

The Wolfpack had many players hit the stat sheets.  Leading the way in the four-set game were: Gianna Pezze with 8 kills, Skyler Durst with 14 assists and 5 aces, and Bryn Shearer with 17 digs

Next up for the Wolfpack will be a match up with their first Region 20 Division II opponent at Harford on Monday August 28th at 7pm.
